We have lost the Pop Sensation Michael Jackson,BollyWood Reaction to michael jackson death

Legendary mega popstar Michael Jackson has passed away on 26th June 2009 at the UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles due to cardiac arrest. 50 year old Jackson was suffering from skin cancer and was on heavy medications.

Jackson, who had lived as a virtual recluse since his acquittal in 2005 on charges of child molestation, had been scheduled to launch a comeback tour from London next month. The world’s biggest-ever music stars had sold 75 crore albums.

Sukhwinder Singh

Michael Jackson was an international icon and he was such an inspiration. I see him perhaps as the best performer that ever existed. One did not need to meet him to feel the loss. It is very sad to see that such a great and incredible superstar leave us so early. It’s such a great loss to the international music and there nobody who can fill this vacuum in coming years. Watching him or listening to him was invigorating for musician’s world over. Music lovers were waiting for his come back tours and they were all sold out concerts.

Singer/music director Raghav Sachar

From the very beginning, Michael Jackson has been my inspiration. As a matter of fact, during my concerts, I have been performing a lot of his numbers. I was even planning on going to London for his comeback concert in July as well and was really looking forward to it. This is an irreparable loss to the music industry and music lovers. There can never be another Michael Jackson. Icons are exclusive.

Jay Bhanushali

The news of Jackson’s death came to me as shock. He was such a good performer. It is a big loss to the music industry. I have also heard that he was all set to make her comeback but suddenly his death has created shocked for his fans. He was a real legend when it comes to the world of melodious songs.

Longinus Fernandes

It is a sad demise. This is a big loss to entertainment world. We have grown watching him. He is a great source of inspiration. His music is eternal and will remain with us. I personally will live up to his dancing style.

Vikrant Massey

I have no words to say. I have been ardent his fan. I personally feel that he should be respected at least now when he is not there. He’s is god’s man. He belongs in paradise and is immortal. I really loved him; beside music world I think humanity will also miss him. I just want people put all the tags at rest. He was never into this. His legacy will live till end. There was only one Michael and no can be. It’s sad to see people minting money on his death. He is in safe hands of god and I’m happy for it.

Tarun Mansukhani

He lived a sad life, he sang from the age of 5, no childhood no innocence we all hounded him till he locked himself up. We then crucified him, abused him called him weird and in return he gave us all music that has formed our memories. Be it our first love, first dance or our first break-up MJ was there. Finally now he can be in peace, finally he can be a child in his never land “

Rahul Sharma

“He was on a verge of comeback tour. He’s left the lot of us asking for more. All of us are left with fond memories of this incredible artist. All of us are left with fond memories of him”.

Hard Kaur

The queen of hip-hop, Hard Kaur says with deep regrets that “there can be only one like him. There’s nobody before and after Michael Jackson .We salute him for his creations. He was the one who created original styles which reflected not only in his music but also his dance, clothes etc. We will miss him; there can be no one ever like him ever!!”

Gauhar Khan

It’s the biggest loss to the music industry especially when he was known as the king of Pop. He has inspired the maximum people from around the world. MJ has left a cult behind him with his dancing style and especially with his moonwalk. I am in a complete shock and not yet used to the fact that MJ is no more. It’s like you have to pinch yourself to get used to the fact that MJ is not around.

Rimi Sen on her role in Sankat City

Bong beauty Rimi Sen is looking toward her upcoming Pankaj Advani directed Moserbaer adn Seven Entmt flick Sankat City. Here are excerpts of her chit chat with the media on the same.

What is your character in Sankat City ?
I play a tomboyish con woman in Sankat City. She loves to use street terms such as” Of Teri Ma Ki. “ My character called Mona teams up
with Guru( Kay Kay Menon) to pull some scheme which blows up on our face and we land up in a soup. Dilip Prabhavalkar, Anupam Kher and Chunkey Pandey are the other important cast in this Moserbaer and Seven Entertainment production.

What attracted you towards this film?
I always like a strong script which Sankat city has .Each and every character has meaning and depth. And I am the only woman in the set
up.

Does the film have lots of romance?
Nahi there is not much love rather we all are around trying to pull a fast on everybody else. Sankat City is a dark comic satire on city life.

Everybody is talking about the garbage dump shoot ?
Yes it was quite tough. The whole place was quite huge with mounds and mounds of solid waste. The stench was unbearable and we even had to eat there. Other actor’s could at least wear surgical masks, but I could not due to make up. At the end we all rushed home to bathe. This is one experience ,which I will not forget in a hurry.

How is the music of Sankat City ?
The music is pretty interesting and foot tapping. Music director Ranjit Barot has ably used the voices of Sukhvinder and Roop Kumar Rathod.

Working with Kay Kay Menon?
A very good actor, but more then that he comes across as a warm hearted individual . We got along very well.

And Director Pankaj Avani?
With Sankat City, Pankaj has proved that he is not only a good writer (Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na) but an able director as well. He has really shaped the film well. I wish him all the best.

What next ?
I am playing 160 kg woman in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s upcoming film, Show Man. Govinda, Celina Jaitley and Harish(Prem Qaidi are my co star’s in this flick. I hardly got time to shoot as most of my shift hours went in putting and removing my make up. Besides this I am doing a small role in my manger’s debut production Shagird This film is also directed by Tigmanshu.

New York Review

Movie Review: New York; Star Cast: John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Irrfan Khan; Director: Kabir Khan; Rating: ***1/2 - Is a must watch.

Omar (Neil) is picked up by the FBI and detained for arms found in his owned taxi. Basically it’s a well planned set up by FBI officer Roshan (Irrfan) and his boss to get Omar agreeing on to work as an undercover agent for them and infiltrate the family the life of Samir (John) and Maya (Katrina) who were Omar’s college friends 7-8 years back. Roshan suspects Samir of running a sleeper terrorism cell and he wants to nab him red handed. Omar is left with no option but to comply with Roshan’s orders but he agrees on one condition that the FBI won’t kill Samir if he agrees to surrender. Years back when in college Omar, Maya and Samir were thick buddies and Omar silently loved Maya but when she expressed her love for Samir, Omar had gone away from them. What truth Omar uncovers when he meets Samir and Maya both now a married couple with a small kid Danielle and what it all leads to forms the rest of the film.

New York can easily be considered the best film to come out of the Yash Raj stable after Chak De India. Shot entirely in the US, the film not only is on par with the best of the Hollywood films made in this genre but is a completely different experience which the Bollywood audience is not used to. You are completely hooked from the first scene of the film when Neil is arrested by FBI and the interrogation that follows by Irrfan of Neil’s. The first half is extremely well narrated and keeps you constantly guessing as to what will happen next. The interval point is a shocker and you look forward to an exciting second half. But then the pace of the second half somehow doesn’t match up that of the first half and there are some predictable things in store. But nonetheless it is packed with some really great moments. The whole frisking episode of Katrina Kaif by a cop on the road late at night and the sequences that follow it linger on your mind for long. The climax though a bit word heavy is superbly shot as well. The torture scenes shown immediately post the interval send a shiver down your spine. Pritam’s music is easy on the ears and there are no lip sync songs to hamper the proceedings.

New York scores high in the acting department with each single actor delivering his/her best. John Abraham often termed as an expressionless actor has delivered his career’s finest performance. Katrina Kaif has finally got the meatiest role of her career and she has taken full advantage of it. She is very good in emotional scenes as well. Neil in a difficult part shines. Irrfan Khan never disappoints and here again he is in great form. His scenes with Neil and also his senior officer have turned out well.

New York takes up a topical theme and perfectly exposes the wily ways of the American FBI to which over hundreds of innocent Muslim people had fallen prey to post 9/11. It is a must watch for many reasons so just don’t miss it.

Gayatri remembers Jackson’s moonwalk

Bollywood’s new dancing sensation Gayatri Patel made her debut in ‘Lets Dance’ last week, gaining widespread acclaim for her twinkle toes and polished performance.

The US-born-and-bred girl had been following Michael Jackson’s moonwalk since childhood and was shocked at his demise. “When someone called me at 4am this morning to tell me about it, for some time I just couldn’t understand what the person was talking about. It was unbelievable. It took me a while to gather myself and realise that the King of Pop was no more!”

“This is heart-breaking and a loss to performers worldwide. I was so excited to hear about his upcoming tour and now we’ll never get to see the legend sliding across the stage doing his classic moonwalk. In fact, there was a rumour that he’d invented a new moonwalk for the upcoming shows. Michael may not perform every again, but his music, style and legacy will live on.”

Katrina breaks down at Special Screening of New York

Last week at a special screening of Kabir Khan’s New York Katrina Kaif broke down after she saw what was on screen.

“It was embarrassing. This has never happened to me before. I was deeply moved by the film. And I couldn’t believe what my director Kabir Khan had achieved in my performance. I kept staring at myself. ‘That’s me!’ I exclaimed at the end of the film.”

This is the first time that Katrina has played a character who echoes her own personality. “So far all my characters have been pretty alien to me. Even the London girl in Chandigarh in Namaste London was not at all like me. But the girl in New York connects deeply with me. Or do I connect with her? It’s symbiotic, I think.”

When he saw what synthesis of ‘actor’ and ‘character’ had been achieved she simply broke down.

Remembering that evening Katrina says, “It was a very private screening. Only members of the cast, our director his wife, the producer and his wife were there. I’ve never been so impressed by any of my films. So far they’ve all been in the orbit of escapist entertainment. New York is my first realistic film.I is proud of all my films. But this is new chapter in my career.”

Katrina will be devoting the next two weeks solely to promoting the film. “So far our producers Yashraj Films haven’t allowed us to talk about New York. Even now I can’t talk much about it without giving away the plot. But I’m very proud of what we’ve done.”

‘Gayatri Patel is the best dancer since Madhuri Dixit’

Some films take a roaring start with awesome initials and some grow on the audiences and get better known with word-of-mouth publicity. ‘Let’s Dance’ falls into the second category.

Continuing its streak of good reviews, the film has now received glowing comments from the popular US-based magazine, India West. In his review, film critic Rajiv Vijayakar calls ‘Let’s Dance’ “a crisper, far smaller but emotionally gripping and superior product to ‘Aaja Nachle’, which had a similar theme.”

He points out that the film “is marked by decent music, some fabulous choreography and dances by debutant Gayatri Patel and overall good performances from the entire cast.” “Technically upbeat, the film also has a sweet message… It might do decent business, as it deserves to,” Vijayakar adds.

The reviewer further praises the lead actress, stating, “Gayatri Patel is the best dancer we have seen since Madhuri Dixit, and that’s no exaggeration despite her humble status today. Her climactic Bharatanatyam dance is the highlight. As actors, she and her twin leading men Ajay Chaudhary and Aqib Afzaal act well… Among the kids, child actor Aabhaas Yadav dances like a dream and plays to the gallery, and yet it is diminutive Nikuunj Padaya as Ali who stands out as an endearing presence.”

Giving the film three-and-a-half stars in his review, Vijayakar prompts his readers to go watch it, terming it “heart-warming”. In his conclusive lines, he states, “content-wise, ‘Let’s Dance’ is a welcome first shower after a long spell of qualitative dry fare.”

Emraan Hashmi on OUATIM

Ever since the beginning of his career, Emraan Hashmi has maintained that he prefers working in solo starrers. If at all he has to work in a multi starrer then the script and his role has to be really enticing enough for him to say yes to a project.

No wonder, his repertoire of films since the time he began his career in 2003 reads only two multi starrers (FOOTPATH, CHOCOLATE), while he has worked in multiple solo/two lead protagonists films like RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES, AWARAPAN, JANNAT, THE TRAIN, GOOD BOY BAD BOY, DIL DIYA HAI, THE KILLER, GANGSTER, AKSAR, JAWANI DIWANI - A YOUTHFUL RIDE, KALYUG, AASHIQ BANAYA AAPNE, ZEHER, TUMSA NAHIN DEKHA and MURDER.

This is the reason why it comes as a surprise when he goes ahead and signs ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI that has Ajay Devgan towering the film’s cast. So what really made him sign a film like this when he has shown clear aversion to multi starrers over the years?

"As I have stated earlier, when I have to work in a two hero project or a multi starrer, it’s not just the setup or the script but also my own role in a standalone mode that has to be important enough. This is something that I saw in ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI that boasts of everything as a package that I ever wanted", comes Emraan’s reply.

But hadn’t he sworn off multi starrers after his not-so-good-experience in CHOCOLATE that had a horde of actors like Anil Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Suneil Shetty and Arshad Warsi. Reportedly, he was quite unhappy with the entire experience as his role didn’t quite come in the fore front and he felt that his character was completely marginalised.

"Well, I learnt from the experience of CHOCOLATE", he chuckles, "I got to know what not to do and read between the lines when a script is narrated to you. I guess I have become much wiser after the CHOCOLATE experience and am much more careful when it comes to choosing work for myself. The way Milan Luthria, the director of ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI, narrated the script and my part to me, I could see that we were making the right progress. I am confident about consenting to do the film being a right move on my part."

Also starring Kangna Ranaut and Prachi Desai as the leading ladies, ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI, which is set in the underworld of the 70s, has just kick started it’s shooting. Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, the film would be released only in 2010

No.1 Bubbly Star of BollyWood

And here are the reasons why we simply love this bubbly star!

She might not be the No 1 Bollywood heroine, but she still manages to turn heads. On the occasion of her 28th birthday, we present the reasons why we love Amrita Rao!

She dropped her Vivah sari in My Name is Anthony Gonsalves, and made polka dots look sexy in that famous skirt of hers from the film. Boy, were we dying to see this avatar of the demure Vivah girl!

She made us sit through Farah Khan's film Main Hoon Na. But for her, we would've got bored seeing the story of two men (read Zayed Khan and Shah Rukh Khan) and their brotherhood. Amrita provided that extra zing to the film, apart from, of course, the HOT Sushmita Sen.

Amrita conceals more than she reveals, and has men hooked on to her by doing that. She leaves a lot to imagination and fantasy!

But come to think of it, Amrita Rao's innocent Vivah look does work for guys. She's the perfect petite-and-hot combination you want to take home to your parents! Whichever way, we like you, Amrita. A very happy birthday!

Bollywood Star Homes

SHAHRUKH KHAN

Shahrukh in Mannat

SRK's Bunglow Mannat

A sprawling bungalow, once owned by wealthy Parsis, Mannat is a heritage building. Buildings in this category are deemed important to the townscape and cannot be demolished.
Shah Rukh lives here with wife Gauri, their two children and SRK's sister.
The superstar is currently constructing a multi-storey building behind his home (seen behind Mannat in the photograph). Some reports suggest the building will house offices for SRK and close friends Karan Johar and Farah Khan.

SALMAN KHAN

Some buildings away from Mannat is Galaxy Apartments, where Salman Khan stays.
Salman, who obviously doesn't care for bungalows and stuff, lives here with his parents Salim and Salma Khan, little sister Arpita, his youngest brother actor Sohail Khan, Sohail's wife designer Seema Khan and their son.
Another brother actor Arbaaz Khan and his glamorous model wife Malaika Arora-Khan live in Khar, a suburb close to Bandra. Sister Alvira and her actor hubby Atull Agnihotri also stay close by.

REKHA

On the avenue between Salman and Shah Rukh Khan's homes lives the mysterious Rekha.
Her bungalow is completely covered with bamboo, and it is impossible to see the house from outside.
In one interview, the actress said she preferred the barricaded look for security reasons because she lived alone.

ASH

Aishwarya Rai occupies the 12th floor of Lamar, a building near Bandra's famous Mount Mary church.

LAMAR during the wedding of Ash
Strangely, she is not the building's best-known resident.
That distinction belongs to a certain S R Tendulkar, currently the most famous batsman on the third rock from the sun.

Ash was brought up in Khar, a suburb close to Bandra, and went to the Arya Vidya Mandir school in Bandra, where she was, we hear, a bright head girl.

AAMIR KHAN

Like Salman Khan, Aamir Khan too is a native of Bandra.

He grew up in the suburb with his three siblings and cousin Mansoor Khan, who has given up directing movies like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak to live quietly in south India.
Aamir's building Bella Vista Apartments is located deep within a housing colony and it is impossible to see it from the road.

This window is in fact all one can see of his first floor apartment, as seen through the back entrance of a neighbouring building.
Aamir and wife Kiran Rao live here.

JOHN ABRAHAM

John Abraham moved to Bandra recently.

John grew up in Andheri, three stations down the Western Railway line from Bandra, before success drew him to this building.

Top Ten BollyWood Controversy Queen | Find Out Below....| The Actress who Created Most Controversy

The more actress Sherlyn Chopra tries to come out of controversy, the more she falls into it. First it was about her name change (from Mona to Sherlyn) with her film 'Red Swastik', then for her bold comments on Mallika Sherawat, later for her legal notice to a journalist and the list continues.

Kim Sharma manages to stay in the news despite her not so successful career. Ask her how she gets embroiled in one controversy after the other, and pat comes the answer that she would rather get into a controversy than be a good girl by not speaking her mind.

Controversies are not new to Rakhi Sawant. Wether its about the kiss between her and Mika or her 'Swayamwar' she has always been the part of news and Rakhi loves publicity of all kinds, positive or negative.

Controversy' is another name for actress Payal Rohatgi. The actress, for some reason is always creating news. Her 'sizzling' acts in 'Fun', 'Tauba Tauba' and 'Mazaa Mazaa' sure managed to raise some eyebrows. She became hot favourite for her link-ups with Rahul Mahajn in 'Bigg Boss'.

Hate her or love her, but you can't just ignore Sambhavna Seth. Popularly known as the Helen of 'Bhojpuri' films, Sambhavna occupied the headlines with her attitude at 'Bigg Boss'. But, she probably needs some more controversies to her credit to be well known as the premier item girl of Bollywood.

Embroiled in controversies is Tanushree Dutta, who took upon veteran Nana Patekar and the entire 'Horn OK Please' team. There were stories going around town about her divaesque attitude being a turn-off. Whether it was true or simply a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, only Tanushree could tell.

The enormity of the now-famous 'male-fantasy' photo-shoot of Neetu Chandra has hit her like a bolt from the blue. The upcoming actress hit national headlines like never before. The media was abuzz with controversial talks of her sexuality, lesbian connotations of the images and an impending MNS agitation threat. Earlier, Neetu has done noteworthy films like 'Traffic Signal', 'Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!' but hasn't witnessed a media storm like this.

Another beauty queen turned 'controvery queen' is our very own Celina jaitley. She may not have created waves with her acting skills in the film industry but has managed to remain in news for her controversies in Bollywood.

Controversy kitten Negar Khan loves to make headlines and the Norwegian sex bomb keeps hopping back into limelight time and again. She seems to have some appetite for controversies. Last year, she was in the eye of a controversy regarding her semi-nude photos in a Norwegian men's magazine and as the Bollywood item girl, Negar set new standards of skin-show.

Riya Sen was in the eye of a storm courtesy a steamy MMS video that featured look-alikes of her and then boyfriend, actor Ashmit Patel. Then she was embroiled in the controversy of her link-ups with Salman Rushdie. Even she loves to be in the news it seems.

Celebs who crossed the line of decency....

Aditya Pancholi

Just in case you thought that Shiney Ahuja was only one in Bollywood to have such an allegation against him,
let's jog your memory. Aditya Panscholi was accused of raping Pooja Bedi's domestic help!
In fact, Pooja Bedi even called off her relationship with Aditya soon after

next one is Rajesh Khanna

Rajesh Khanna

Much before he received his Lifetime Achievement Award, Rajesh Khanna was accused of lewd conduct on the
sets of (hold your breath) Anokha Rishta or A Unique Relationship! The young lady who raised a hue and cry was Sabeeha,
daughter of yesteryear superstar Ameeta. Eventually nothing came out of the allegations and all was forgotten.

Raj Kumar Santoshi

Mamta Kulkarni accused her director Raj Kumar Santoshi of unbecoming conduct on the sets of China Gate.
At that time, Mamta was herself involved in another controversy involving some semi-nude pictures of hers.
Little was heard of Mamta after that, and Santoshi has not cast her in any film after China Gate.

Jackie Shroff

A young Tabu, who had accompanied her sister Farah for an outstation shoot, accused Jackie Shroff of molesting her.
Nothing was proved. Needless to say Jackie Shroff and Tabu never acted in a film together.
Significantly, Tabu's first role was that of a rape victim in Dev Anand's Hum Naujawan.

shakti kapoor

In what might have been the most written and spoken about sting operation in Bollywood,
Shakti Kapoor was caught with his pants down. He was accused of asking sexual favours from an aspiring actress.
In a press conference he later said: "She? sweet-talked me into meeting her. Any man would fall for this!"

Aman Verma

The same sting operation that exposed Shakti Kapoor also caught television's sweetheart Aman Verma.
Aman had been an Indian Idol host but will probably be remembered best for playing the good guy
in Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi on Star Plus. Post the sting operation, Aman never really
managed to make it to the top, despite great potential.

Preeti Jain is a name that Madhur Bhandarkar may never really forget. Here was a woman who took on the man
who made women-centric movies and almost got him by the nose. Preeti accused Madhur Bhandarkar
of promising movie roles and marriage. What's more, she even accused the director of threatening to kill her.
The case eventually fizzled out.
